Sedona AZ (November 24, 2010) – The City of Sedona is now accepting applications for three positions on its Arts and Culture Commission. The deadline to return applications is Monday, December 27, 2010, by 5 PM. The mission of the Arts and Culture Commission is to be the catalyst for creating excellence in arts and culture, thus contributing to a vital economy and the highest quality of life for all. The Arts and Culture Commission acts as an advocate and resource for arts and cultural opportunities on behalf of residents, businesses, and visitors of Sedona. It will recommend policy to the City Council on arts and cultural issues.The Commission may have two members who are not residents of the City of Sedona, but only if they have a direct connection to the City corporation limits, including but not limited to, situations such as being an employee within the City limits or owning a business within the City limits. Appointments will be made by the Sedona City Council. The term of service will be from time of appointment until January 2014. Members serve without pay. Ethnic and cultural diversity on the commission is encouraged.
