Sedona Parks and Recreation Needs One Volunteer

Sedona AZ–Do you enjoy the outdoors, swimming, or other recreation activities? The City of Sedona Parks & Recreation Commission has an opening for a one-year term commencing from time of appointment to December 31, 2011. Here is a chance to make a real difference in your community, help design the future of our parks and recreation programs, take an active part in your City government, meet new people, have fun, and have a positive influence on the future of Sedona.

Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011. Commissioners serve as a communication link between citizens, the Parks & Recreation Department and the City Council. They are responsible for supporting the City’s goals and objectives and for providing useful, accurate, and timely information to the staff and City Council regarding public open space, trails, City parks, and recreational opportunities.

Applicants should have an interest in parks and recreational issues, be willing to volunteer their time to improve our community, and enjoy working with others to solve problems and provide new ideas. Applications will be accepted from residents living outside of the City limits, but only if they have a direct connection to the City corporation limits, including, but not limited to situations such as being an employee within the City limits or owning a business within the City limits.
