Sedona Library Integral Discussion Series

Sedona AZ (August 13, 2010) – Integral Sedona is sponsoring “The Miracle of We” discussion series on Saturday, August 21 and 28, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon in the Sedona Library Community Room.

The Miracle of We” is a term first used by the American philosopher Ken Wilber in his 2006 book, Integral Spirituality: A Startling New Role for Religion in the Modern and Postmodern World, available for check out at the Sedona Public Library.

Wilber points out that, “when you and I come together, and we begin talking, resonating, sharing and understanding each other… a ‘We’ is formed. It is not simply two or more ‘I’s communing; a ‘We’ exists as a dynamic entity which is more than the sum of the individual ‘I’s.”

Join us in discovering a new perspective of our relationships, friendships, business teams, or any groups that you are a part of and want to connect to in a more enriching manner:  The first session, August 21, is entitled ” The Miracle of We: A New Perspective” and will consist of an overview and introduction to various understandings and experiences of the “We” space, and is followed by the second session on August 28 “The Miracle of We: Deepening our Awareness” which will continue the exploration.

Admission is free for both Saturday events.

Facilitating the Miracle of We series will be:

Rich Pfeiffer is a psychologist, spiritual practitioner, integral scholar, and author of numerous books on relationships and mental health. He is passionate about understanding the ‘evolution of love’ and the ‘we’ space.

Who is Ken Wilber?

According to Jack Crittenden Ph.D., author of Beyond Individualism, “the twenty-first century literally has three choices: Aristotle, Nietzsche, or Ken Wilber.” If you haven’t already heard of him, Ken Wilber is one of the most important philosophers in the world today. He is the most widely translated academic writer in America, with 25 books translated into some 30 foreign languages. Ken Wilber currently lives in Denver, Colorado, and is still active as a philosopher, author, and teacher, with all of his major publications still in print.

Former President Bill Clinton says of Wilber, “If ordinary people don’t perceive that our grand ideas are working in their lives then they can’t develop the higher level of consciousness, to use a term that American philosopher Ken Wilber wrote a whole book about. He said, you know, the problem is the world needs to be more integrated, but it requires a consciousness that’s way up here, and an ability to see beyond the differences among us.”
