Sedona AZ (February 6, 2014) – As part of Sedona World Peace Dance Celebration Week, children in Grades 1, 2 and 3 at the Sedona Charter School were asked to express what peace means to them in pictures and words. After meeting and discussing their thoughts, the children were provided with lots of colored reference materials to further expand the possibilities. The kids ideas about peace confirm the notion that children can lead the way, as they said “Peace means the earth is like a family,” “Peace is no conflict and no arguments,” and “Peace means to me that you are being kind to people and giving people things you have that they don’t have.

The 42 piece compilation (see photo below) was created with colored markers and tie dye fabric. Nancy Lattanzi, founder of Planet Art, assisted by Barb Wilson, worked with the SCS class of Bob and Terri Wentsch. From the work of the children, Lattanzi created the mural Sedona Kids for Peace which will be displayed at the Sedona Performing Arts Center during the World Peace Dance and Concert on Friday, February 7.
