It’s about time! Please sign the petitions and help get our fire Distict back on track.
I would also be very helpful for citizens to go to sedonafire.org. All board meetings have videos that citizens can watch. If you watch closely, you will see very little discussion among Board members. Very little in-depth investigation of the proposals they are making. The vote is almost always 4-1. Why is that?
The http://www.sfdrecall.com website has the location of offices posted where you can go and sign petitions. The website has many facts and figures that will really inform citizens of how critical it is to get new people to replace the ones that are being recalled.
The selection of a competent and professional SFD Fire Chief is of the upmost importance to the residents within this fire district. Considering the track record of the majority of this Board and the make up of the majority of the members of the search committee under the chairmanship of Phyllis Erick, one cannot help but wonder if this will be an unbiased search.
The only check and balance is YOU THE READER. By monitoring the minutes for these meetings easily found on the SFD website, you can see what is REALLY happening at the meetings and make sure that the right chief is selected to lead our firefighters…I also notice that this committee is the only one not being televised…is there an ulterior motive? I can’t help being suspicious, considering the past track record of the majority of this Board…
It’s up to ALL OF US…you and me… to do our due diligence to make sure that someone is not pulling the wool over our eyes. They need to know that they represent all of us and that they are being watched because we expect them to be accountable for their actions.

The individuals, who will hopefully be recalled, were elected to the SFD Governing Board because the silent majority was apathetic and decided to stay home on election day. Now we are all paying the price for their lack of participation. It is high time for them to now become the vocal majority and stand up for what is right.
My message to the silent majority is don’t take anybody’s word for it: do your due diligence, start attending the SFD board meetings. If you can’t go, view the SFD Governing Board meetings on video at http://www.sedonafire.org or read the minutes. Check out the facts on http://www.sfdrecall.com and then you will realize WHY you need to sign the petitions to recall Dave Blauert, Charles Christensen and Phyllis Erick.
Your lack of action at the last election got us in this mess and now it’s up to YOU to rectify it. We are all counting on you to do what is right for our entire community and for YOURSELF!
Precious time is running out and you need to act before it’s too late!

Karen Daines, the Business Director for the Sedona Fire District, overseeing Finance and Budget, Human Resources, and Administration, has served in local government for over 14 years. She will give the history and full current situation. Members of the Board have been invited. It is hoped they, or their representatives, will attend.
Doors open at 8:00am at the Olde Sedona Bar and Grill, 1407 W. SR89A.
Cost is $11 which includes breakfast.
