Sedona City Vehicle Auction

Sedona AZ  (February 7, 2010) – In 2009, a vehicle usage study was initiated by the Sedona Arizona City Manager’s office due to concerns regarding the number of city vehicles and fiscal constraints affecting the City budget. As a result, the City of Sedona is auctioning eight surplus vehicles and other miscellaneous equipment through a public surplus website over the next 45 days.

All surplus will have a staggered release date. If you are interested in viewing the vehicles and or other items, go to PublicSurplus.com and search “Agency” for City of Sedona.

The City Manager determined that decreasing the numbers of city-owned vehicles and other surplus equipment will have several benefits, including the following:

  • Reduced vehicle costs associated with maintenance (on older vehicles), insurance (number of vehicles covered), and eliminated replacement costs for vehicles not replaced.
  • Continued shared usage of vehicles within and amongst various departments.
  • Implementation of standardized purchasing policy for vehicle replacement.
  • Potential cost savings for storage of surplus equipment.

Released items will be available for public viewing during the forty-five (45) days of the surplus sale. For more information, contact the City of Sedona Manager’s office at 928-204-7127.
