Sedona Book Festival Adds Workshops

Sedona AZ-The October 2 2010 Sedona Book Festival is expanding to Friday, October 1st with four new workshops featuring authors and publishers.

The workshops, ideal for readers and writers who enjoy interacting with authors in a small group setting, are free and will take place at the Sedona Community Center, 2645 Melody Lane.

Workshop #1, “The Secrets of Good Fiction,” 9-10:30AM,  features Greg Lilly, Kris Neri and Deborah Vaughn. Lilly is author of the Derek Mason Mysteries: Fingering the Family Jewels and Scalping the Red Rocks. Neri is author of the Tracy Eaton mystery series, Revenge of the Gypsy Queen, Dem Bones’ Revenge, and Revenge for Old Times’ Sake and her new urban fantasy, High Crimes on the Magical Plane. Vaughn is author of In Search of the Menopause Ranch, a blend of humor, warmth, wisdom, and historical perspective of what women have forgotten about themselves through the ages.

 

Workshop #2, “The How and Why of Writing Your Memoirs,” 11:00AM -12:30PM,    features Anne Crosman, author of Young at Heart: Aging Gracefully with Attitude. Crosman teaches memoir-writing and is afternoon host for KNAU’s“All Things Considered.”

 

Workshop #3, “Publishing Your Book is Easy,” 1:00-2:30PM , features Richard and Sharon Hooper of Sanctuary Publications, and Wib and Jane Middleton  of Thunder Mountain Design sharing the secrets of getting your book  published – from concept to design, advertising and marketing.

 

Workshop #4, “What’s So Special About Non Fiction,” 3:00-4:30PM , features Maia Kincaid, Barbara Mayer and Terri Marie. Kincaid, animal communication specialist, authored several books including Being Human & Loving Life from the Wise Counsel of Plants, Animals, Insects & Earth. Mayer’s recent books include Beyond Religion – The Personal Search for Truth and Living The Gift – A Unicorn’s Journey into Spirit. Terri Marie is author of several books including award winning Be the Hero of Your Own Game.
