Sedona AZ (May 21, 2014) – SedonaEye.com photos of the Slide Rock Fire burning since May 20 in the Oak Creek Canyon area, Sedona, Arizona captured from Arizona Interstate 17 (top) and AZ State Route 179 (center) and Sedona staging area (last photo courtesy of USFS) at approximately 2:30 PM. The Slide Rock Fire has burned over 1000 acres and is expected to reach 5000 acres within 24 hours due to adverse weather conditions. I wish there was a way to personally thank each and every fireman and the other people helping to get this fire under control and extinguished. What a massive job on very difficult terrain! Thank you, if any of you or your family members get to read this. Thank you so much for all you are doing to save beautiful Oak Creek Canyon and to keep the people and structures safe.
