Turn lanes at SR 89A and Airport Road on schedule

Traffic signal installation scheduled

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed the first phase of improvements at the intersection of State Route 89A and Airport Road in Sedona. The construction included a right turn lane on State Route 89A, a left turn lane on Airport Road , and drainage improvements.

A new traffic signal will be installed during the next phase, which will begin in about a week, when the material for the new signal arrives. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2010.

Work hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday. ADOT advises drivers to anticipate lane closures and brief delays during the construction of the signal and to be alert for workers and equipment.
