Forwarded herewith for your information is a letter I sent to the Editor of the Sedona Red Rock News. It appears they have opted to not publish my letter; therefore I’m asking that you please let Mr. Burkhalter and the dedicated ADOT personnel who risk their lives everyday directing the flow of traffic that at least one person out here appreciates them: Thank you very much for an ongoing stellar performance, largely under adverse conditions. The end result will reward everyone, residents and tourists, with a fabulous, safe, and scenic entry into Sedona.

For clarity please note that the referenced letter was written over one year ago, on May 15, 2010, and was in direct reference to the SR179 project. It was a surprise to see this surface on another website and, although I have no objections, it’s important to me that my comments at the time (to Sedona Times) had no connection whatsoever with the current controversial disposition of State Route 89A in West Sedona. However, my confidence in the capabilities of ADOT engineers for designing and improving State Routes remains the same.
