Rimrock Man Arrested for Meth Possession After Traffic Stop

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Area Commands MapSedona AZ (March 10, 2016) – While on overnight patrol keeping our communities safe, a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a 1991 Gold Honda Accord on March 4, 2016, around midnight at the Cornville County Market in the 9400 block of Cornville Road, Cornville, AZ. The Honda had been picked up on radar for speeding.

Three males were inside the car including the front seat passenger, Tommy Ray Wallace Jr., 25, from Rimrock, Arizona. During the initial contact with the YCSO deputy, Wallace gave a false name and birth date. After a brief time, the deputy recognized Wallace from previous interactions and recalled he had an outstanding arrest warrant. The deputy also noticed an apparent marijuana pipe in an open backpack being held by Wallace. When confronted, Wallace admitting to lying about his identity and acknowledged the warrant. 

After Wallace and the other two males were detained, a search of the backpack revealed illicit pills, several grams of methamphetamine, marijuana wax, and a scale. The deputy also found another package of meth and a meth pipe underneath Wallace’s seat. A total of nearly ten grams of meth were seized.

Wallace was arrested and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Probation Violation Warrant. He remains in-custody on a total bond of $30,000.

The other two males were cleared from direct connection to the contraband. One of the males, 17-years-of-age, was transported home by deputies due a curfew violation.

    The Flagstaff Police Department is asking for help in locating a suspect. Raymond Stone, 33, is wanted on a felony warrant. According to FPD, he is suspected of trafficking in stolen property. He is also a person of interest in at least two burglaries in which guns have been used or stolen.

    Stone should be considered armed and dangerous.

    Stone is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the east side of Flagstaff.

    Police are asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact FPD Detective Eric Carlson at (928) 679-4060.
