Prescott Doctor Arrested By Drug Task Force

Prescott AZ (July 15, 2012)After a lengthy investigation conducted by the newly formed Yavapai County Prescription Drug Task Force, Dr. Randy Joe Spicer, 39, of Prescott, Arizona was arrested for various drug offenses. The task force is staffed by personnel from Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT).

During the investigation, detectives monitored Dr. Spicer’s participation in prescribing narcotic medication for non-medical related reasons to patients at his medical practice located in the Clearwater Medical Center, 3108 Clearwater Drive, Prescott AZ.

Dr. Spicer’s Clearwater Medical Center Facebook page (established November 2, 2010) states that the Center offers “Family, Pediactric and Aesthetic Medicine” and is incorporated in Arizona. He is listed as the business principal. Twenty-two Facebook users Like the CMC.

Detectives documented several violations including Spicer’s agreement to profit from medications he knowingly prescribed for resale on the streets.

Spicer was recently arrested and booked into the YCSO detention facility by the Prescott Police Department for an unrelated criminal investigation and had been released on bond less than one (1) month ago. Since his prior release from custody, Spicer has continued to use his medical profession to prescribe medication for non-medical related reasons.

Spicer was arrested July 11, 2012 in the medical center complex and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges, including Administering a Narcotic Drug, 3 Counts, Obtaining a Narcotic Drug by Fraud, 3 Counts, Conspiracy to Sale of Dangerous Drugs, 1 Count, and Facilitation to Sell and or Distribute Dangerous Drugs, 1 Count.

Dr. Spicer’s bond on these charges is set at $15,000. His total bond as a result of the $50,000 bond revocation on his prior case is now $65,000.
