Marijuana Stash Found In Scrap Tire

Coconino County Sheriff BadgeSedona AZ (June 5, 2013) – On June 4, 2013, Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies seized 37 pounds of marijuana out of a tire at a vehicle salvage yard on Leupp Road, Flagstaff.

The marijuana was discovered after a customer of the U-Pick-It Salvage Yard removed the tire from a pile of scrap tires. After a yard employee attempted to remove the tire from its rim, the pounds of marijuana were discovered.

The salvage yard employee called the Sheriff’s Office to report the suspicious packages, a total of 12 individually wrapped marijuana blocks found in the tire. Investigators are working with salvage yard employees in an attempt to determine 0n which vehicle the tire and wheel had been previously mounted.

According to officers assigned to the Northern Arizona Metro Street Crimes Task Force, the current average street value for one pound of marijuana in this area is estimated to be about $625.00 bringing the entire value of this find to approximately $23,125.

    you have to ask how much of this is going on every day around here

    that employee is due recognition for being honest and turning it over to police. maybe it will get a drug trafficker caught! hope the police can track down the people
