Gripe Guy on Lack of Brain Power

Sedona AZ (February 11, 2010) – by Sedona Times Gripe Guy, Hollywood Jim Franckowiak.

Anyone Have Any Brains Anymore? The question brings to mind people like James Arthur Ray, Rev. Ted Haggard, and the followers of such.  Someone said to me a while ago that he felt bad for the family of Ted Haggard.  I said, “Are you crazy?”  I felt for his kids, but if his wife had no idea he was smoking meth and having a homosexual affair behind her back, then it’s her bad!  She must have chosen to bury her head in the sand and pretend it wasn’t going on.

If one man could mislead his wife, then one man could mislead a congregation of 14,000 people!

This also brings Mr. James Arthur Ray to my mind.  Mr. Ray is charged with three counts of involuntary manslaughter in the sweat lodge deaths of three of his followers.  Okay, you’re asking where James Ray’s brains are, right?  In his wallet, if you ask me, but it does make me question the people who died and where their common sense went. The age old question of “Would you jump of a bridge if someone said to do it?”  still applies.  After all, if I’m getting to the point where I’m not feeling good about something…I LEAVE!

No offense to the families of the victims intended, but we all have to take responsibility for our own actions. I remember when George W. was running for a second term and the Iraq War was at its peak.  I was living in Colorado Springs at the time, and as you may or may not know, it’s a huge military town.  I would ask the people who they had in mind for the next President of The United States and almost all of them were going to give Bush another shot at ruining this country.

Some were saying that it’s not a good idea to switch Presidents during a war.  Huh?  Who ever said that?  It makes me wonder if they rethink their position now, since George W. left this country in the dumpster!  You wanted it and now you got it.  Sadly, I suffer because of your poor choice.

It just seems to me that more and more people today are relying on other people to tell them what to think and do.  Have we become so complacent today that we no longer even want to think?

In as little as 150 years ago you were defending your homestead against intruders, human and otherwise.  Would you hide in the fruit cellar and wait for someone to tell you to grab that shotgun and start blasting?  As for me, I’d have been kicking out a window and doing some old school shootin!  We trusted our leaders then to take us to greatness but now we blindly suffer the consequences of another idiot and his adulterous affair, or his bankruptcy of the Social Security Fund.  Every President since Ronald Reagan has borrowed your money to hedge the national debt, killed your sons and daughters in senseless wars, and few ever say a thing.  We just gave them another shot is what we did.

In this time of local elections I want you to go to that town hall meeting and ask your questions and state what you need and expect of the candidate you give your vote too.

You can also do the same thing when choosing the church you think you may want to attend.  It’s time to reawaken that part of your brain that makes judgments about someone’s behavior, instead of being a victim to one person’s ideals.

Lastly, Larry from Sedona wants to know what’s up with all the military jets flying overhead and leaving their beautiful but possibly deadly chemical trails?  I don’t know Larry but with all the bling we spend on the military budget and everyone’s concern with greenhouse gases, I want to know why they can’t make it cleaner too.  Or would that cost more money?
