Flagstaff Express Stop Robbed

Coconino County Patrol MapSedona AZ (December 12, 2014) – On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 9:57 in the evening, a 911 dispatcher received notice that the Express Stop convenience store, 4525 North Highway 89, Flagstaff, Arizona, had been robbed. During the subsequent investigation, Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies were informed a man, approximately 5’6” to 5’7” tall wearing all black clothing with his face covered, had walked into the Express Stop and handed its clerk a note with instructions to empty the register. The clerk complied. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the robber exited the business and walked in a westerly direction towards a Wendy’s Restaurant.

Investigators believe the suspect waited until no customers were in the store to approach the clerk. Witnesses outside the store reported seeing a man acting in a suspicious manner, possibly of Native American descent, loitering in the parking lot just before the robbery occurred.

In an attempt to track the suspect, a CCSO deputy and her K-9 dog responded to the scene. The K9 followed a scent to a wooded area, west of the El Paso Natural Gas facilities, at which point the dog ceased to track it further.

Individuals who believe they may have information about this robbery, or the identity or location of a possible suspect, are urged to call the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at 928-774-4523 or toll free at 1-800-338-7888 or Silent Witness at 928-774-6111.
