Fire District Authority Explored

supervisor jack smithSedona AZ (September 10, 2015) – The following is a letter to the SedonaEye.com editor:

Yavapai County Board Supervisor Jack R. Smith, District 5, on September 9, 2015, attended the Manager’s Smorgas-Board Meeting put on by the Town of Prescott Valley. The topic discussed was Central Yavapai Fire District (CYFD) creation of a Fire Authority as presented by Chief Scott Freitag.

The information presented was very informative and it is great to get together and discuss topics like these with the so many fantastic members of this community.

I applaud the CYFD and Chino Valley boards for coming together and looking for new ways to innovate and strengthen our emergency services while also reducing their overall bottom line. This type of thinking outside the box is critical to the budget and also ensuring the consistent level of services.

I admire all parties involved in this new team and their critical way of thinking.

This letter represents the position or opinion of only Supervisor Jack R. Smith.
