Final Day for Voter Registration Soon

Be informed. Mail in your ballot. Go vote on General Election day.

FLORENCE AZ (October 5, 2012) – Are you registered to vote in the upcoming general election? If not, you have until Tuesday, October 9, 2012 to register and voice your opinion in the upcoming 2012 General election. It’s as easy as going to ServiceArizona.com and clicking the link for voter registration.

“It’s every citizen’s duty to participate in our representative democracy,” said Board of Supervisors Chairman David Snider. “There is no reason why we shouldn’t have a 90 percent or better turnout in this election. It all begins with registering to vote and becoming informed about the candidates and the issues.”

Pinal County Recorder Laura Dean-Lytle added that there are roughly 74,000 residents who are either on the permanent early voting list or who have requested an early ballot for the upcoming election. “It’s becoming a very popular form of voting,” Dean-Lytle explained. “Early voting begins on Thursday, October 11, 2012 and the deadline to request an early ballot by mail is Friday, October 26.”

Dean-Lytle reminds voters that Pinal County will have the following three offices open as early voting sites on Monday through Friday:

· Florence: County Complex, Building E-Voting Registration entrance (east side of the building just off Florence Street), 31 North Pinal Street. (8:00 AM until 5:00 PM)

· Casa Grande: County Complex, 820 East Cottonwood Lane, Suite A-2.  (8:00 AM until 4:30 PM)

· Apache Junction, Roy Hudson County Complex, 575 North Idaho Road, Suite 800.  (8:00 AM until 4:30 PM)

“The early voting sites are very popular with our residents,” said Recorder Dean-Lytle. “We enjoy having people use these sites, but voters should remember that we only have two employees at each location. If a lot of people show up at once to vote, it may take a little time to get in and get to the ballot box – there are a lot of issues, offices and candidates involved in this election.”
