Faith Lutheran Church Good Samaritan Effort

Faith Lutheran Church in Cottonwood AZ bags trash along Arizona SR 260

Faith Lutheran Church volunteers in Cottonwood AZ collect trash along Arizona SR 260

Sedona AZ (June 17, 2015) – It was noticed and noted that Faith Lutheran Church in Cottonwood, Arizona, made a difference in what we will “not see” while traveling between Cottonwood and Camp Verde.

On June 6, 2015, along State Highway 260 between Milepost 213 – 214, ten blue bags, filled with litter which others accidentally and or intentionally dumped onto the highway, now dot its landscape. Trash with its negative effect on our community image and economy is neatly bound, a public display to remind passerbys to dispose of litter properly.

Civic responsibility and good environmental stewardship is a must for all.

“The Highway 260 cleanup project through Faith Lutheran Church is one of the many ways that we reach out to the community to spread God’s word and thank Him for all that He provides to us,” said Dan Neimy, a volunteer litter lifter.

Faith Lutheran Church is located at 2021 East Fir Street in Cottonwood, Arizona. Contact the church office by calling (928) 634-7876 and visit its website CottonwoodFaithLutheran.org  and on Facebook at Facebook.com/pages/Faith-Lutheran-Church-of-the-Verde-Valley/937385809622657.

A community thank you goes out to Dan Neimy and the church litter lifters for making the Verde Valley safer and more pleasant to look at as we travel to our destinations.

  1. Too bad,

Though I know that there are many that appreciate what the Adopt-A-Highway groups do, isn’t it too bad that more of those that read the postings about these groups can’t even find the time to thank them.

More and more businesses are rewarding these groups for what they do and a list of these businesses will be in a story being sent to the SedonaEyE.com very soon.

Only through community involvement will we ever reverse the habits of those that trash our communities and our country.

There is something for everyone to do or contribute to this effort and it could start with saying “Thank you” to every group that picks up these messes others leave behind.

If your company would like to know how to reward one of our local Adopt-A-Highway groups, please contact “America the Beautiful & BagReadyJobs”.
