Job Salary: $16.48-$23.76/hour 

The City of Sedona is seeking applicants for the position of Code Enforcement Officer. Candidates must have excellent administrative skills; be proficient in data entry; experienced and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other database software.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, highly organized, detail oriented, have good customer service skills, and be a team player. This person will perform technical office duties and field work within the Code Enforcement division to ensure compliance with various City codes and zoning ordinances and provide responsible staff assistance to City staff and the general public.

This position may entail weekend or evening work. 

Some of the essential functions include:

Review citizen complaints regarding alleged violations of various City codes or regulations; assign minor complaints to appropriate staff for action and investigate complaints with work area; process, review and approve requests for sign permits; inspect sign installations and certify compliance.

Investigate complaints to substantiate violations; inspect to insure compliance with approved plans, issue courtesy notices, notices of violation, correction notices, stop work orders and civil citations; prepare reports for criminal prosecution.

Prepare a variety of correspondence providing information relating to code enforcement; prepare a variety of reports and documentation regarding inspections, code violations, and enforcement case contacts.

Coordinate the review process and approve and inspect requests for special event and temporary use permits; review and make recommendations on requests for liquor licenses and special event liquor licenses.
