Democrats of Red Rocks Open Sedona Campaign Office

DORR Sedona Headquarters, 65 Coffeepot Drive, Sedona AZ 86336

Sedona AZ (June 8, 2012) – Democrats of the Red Rocks (DORR) invite the public to celebrate the opening of its new west Sedona campaign office located in the Fox Building, 65 Coffee Pot Drive. The Saturday grand opening is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with free hotdogs and an opportunity to meet Democrats running for 2012 state and federal elections.

Candidates attending will be State Legislative Candidate Angela LeFevre of Sedona, State Legislative Candidate Douglas Ballard of Parks, State Senate Candidate Tom Chabin of Flagstaff, and Congressional Candidate Mikel Weisser from neighboring Legislative District 4 (LD4).

In state elections, two House of Representatives seats are open and one Senate seat. LeFevre, Ballard, and Chabin are working together to claim all three seats.

Sedona, Flagstaff, and the Greater Verde Valley were redistricted into the sixth legislative district, LD6. The newly drawn district map will be on display at the DORR office.

Candidates believe the new LD6 is politically “competitive,” a term that recognizes its registered voters are not supporters, disproportionately, of the two national parties, Democrat or Republican. As a result, candidates for LD6 offices must woo the proportionally equal share of “undecided” voters registered as Independents/Other and turn out the party faithful to gain a majority vote.

Democrats of the Red Rocks promotes itself as welcoming the independent-minded with a mission to elect Democrats by increasing voter turnout and promoting Democratic party principles to the community. To learn more, visit the DORR website DemocratsoftheRedRocks.org for more information.

  1. Would it be possible to give the Sedona Public library a map of the new legislative district–AND one of the new state district #6?

People have been asking and the one from the Red Rock News has been confusing to people. Thank you!
