Dear Editor: Camp Soaring Eagle

I would like to thank Jennifer Perry for her letter (September 23 2010 Print Edition) regarding Camp Soaring Eagle hosting its first camper weekend at Jackpot Ranch.  The owners of Jackpot Ranch, close friends, have a foundation which offers the ranch’s facilities to underprivileged children over weekends.  They have poured their hearts, their time, and their generosity into doing something for the children.  The ranch, among other features has many activities for the children, has a petting zoo, a tree house, a pond, games, hayrides, and the ‘bunk house’, with its fully stocked kitchen, is better than many motels in this country today.  Symbolic of the Soaring Eagles, my brother-in-law, in Connecticut, is on the board of directors for the late Paul Newman’s Hole in One camps and, yes, Paul did have unbelievable blue eyes.
