Cottonwood Drugs and Weapon Bust

Cottonwood AZ (March 8, 2012) – The Arizona Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Unit (SCU) with the assistance of Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) served a search warrant in the 2200 block of East Arrowhead Lane, Cottonwood, on February 29, 2012. Detectives had confirmed sales of various drugs and narcotics from this home.

The SCU Detectives investigation resulted in the arrest of homeowner Brenda Whittaker, 49, for Possession of a Narcotic Drug for Sale (hashish), Possession of Marijuana for Sale, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs (LSD and prescription pills). Also arrested were Robert Kicak, 36, for Possession of Narcotic Drug for Sale, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Weapon during a Drug Offense, along with 25-year-old Blake Carroll for charges including Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Narcotic Drug for Sale.

During a search of Whittaker’s bedroom, detectives located three digital scales and five baggies of marijuana packaged and weighed for personal use sales. Additionally, detectives found a package that had been shipped to Whittaker from Washington State which contained six different bags of high grade marijuana, along with a baggy of five compressed hashish wafers weighing about an ounce. Near Whittaker’s bed, detectives seized $120.00 and drug paraphernalia. Forty dollars was located in a safe along with more pre-packaged baggies of marijuana, four Lorazepam pills and a Trazedone pill all packaged for sales, and a digital scale. The search of the room concluded with the recovery of LSD laced blotter paper.

In the common areas of Whittaker’s home detectives found a baggy of finely filtered marijuana along with a marijuana grinder(s)/separator(s), a pill crusher, a jar containing an ounce of hashish, and two bottles of hashish oil. The total weight of marijuana recovered exceeded one pound and the total weight of hashish recovered is estimated at two ounces.

Kicak was found in possession of a handgun and detectives confirmed Kicak had profited from recent drug sales at the home. Carroll was found in possession of marijuana and cash recovered from his wallet was confirmed connected to prior documented drug transactions.
