Convicted Child Rapist Registers Prescott Address

Convicted of raping a 7 yr old boy in California, Jason R. Hackett has registered a Prescott AZ address

Sedona AZ (July 24, 2013) – The Prescott Police Department is releasing the following information pursuant to ARS 13-3825, the Community Notification on Sex Offenders Law. The Level Two sex offender in this publication has indicated that he will be living within the City of Prescott.

It is the responsibility of the Chief Law Enforcement Officer having jurisdiction where the sex offender resides to notify the community. Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, accepted under an interstate compact or released from the county jail back into the community.

Offenders are categorized into three levels: Level One (low risk to the community), Level Two (intermediate risk to the community) and Level Three (high risk to the community).

We have received notification through the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department that sex offender Jason R. Hackett will be living at the address below. He is not wanted by the Prescott Police Department at this time:

VEHICLE: None registered at this time

Jason R. Hackett was convicted and plead guilty to Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a child under the age of 14 out of Riverside, California in 1997. The incident took place in 1996 when Hackett was 18 years old and involved a 7 year old male victim.

Hackett served about three years in the California Department of Corrections.

This notification is not intended to increase fear. It is our belief that an informed community is a safer community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated.
