Coconino Wilderness Areas Drawn

As part of its current Forest Plan revision effort, the Coconino National Forest has posted its draft Potential Wilderness Area Evaluation Report on its website at
http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/projects/plan-revision/index.shtml.
The ten areas that have been evaluated as potential wilderness areas are:
Strawberry Crater, Rail Road Draw, East Clear Creek, Barbershop, Walker
Mountain, Cedar Bench, Black Mountain, Cimarron-Boulder, Hackberry and Davey’s.
The Forest would greatly appreciate feedback on the draft report or on-the-ground knowledge that you can contribute to this evaluation. If we have missed an important detail, please contact us at:

Public input will be most useful if received by August 2, 2010 and those
provided will become part of the public record.
 
Public Meetings
 
The Coconino National Forest will also be holding two public meeting to
solicit public feedback on the Draft Potential Wilderness Area Evaluation
Report.  The meetings will begin with a short presentation will be given at
the start of the meeting; followed by question and answer period; and
ending with an open house style meeting format to allow the public to
browse posted materials, talk to Forest Service personnel and provide feedback.
