Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinets

Sedona AZ (September 8, 2010) – Join the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Sedona Police Department in a community effort to turn in unwanted medications. The “Take Back” initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. The rate of prescription drug abuse is increasing at an alarming rate. The majority of abused prescription drugs are often obtained from family and friends, and in-home medicine cabinets.

Collection sites will be set up nationwide on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your unused, unneeded and expired prescription medications – no questions asked – to the Sedona Police Department at Sedona City Hall for proper disposal.

This is a free, anonymous service that will help keep your home safe and could save lives. For more information about the Take Back initiative, visit www.dea.gov.
