City of Sedona Sewer Line Project Begins

Sedona AZ (June 10, 2013) – The City of Sedona has contracted to begin a sewer line cleaning and video inspection project to take place starting Monday, June 10, 2013, and ending Friday, June 28, 2013. The work will be performed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Workers will be on-site to direct traffic in the affected areas.

Several City areas are included in this project:

· June 11 – June 14: Sewer lines from Indian Cliffs Road over east of Little Horse Lane, and up to Chapel Road (southern most Sedona, east of SR 179)

· June 17 – June 21: Sewer lines in the Mystic Hills area east and west sides of SR 179 (moving northerly) up through the Poco Diablo area.

· June 24 – June 28: Sewer lines from Morgan Road up to Highland Road, across over to areas off Brewer Road down to Sugarloaf Drive.

· NO work will be done directly on SR 179

The purpose of this project is to clean the sewer lines, removing any debris, dirt, silt, and vegetation that may possibly be in the sewer lines that might significantly impede the flow of sewage through the collection system in these areas.

The video inspection of these lines will identify sewer lines that may have damage such as cracks, dips, small breaks, or root penetrations that could lead to more severe issues to the infrastructure. The combination of cleaning and data gathering will be used to plan any future repairs or rehabilitation projects in the sewer collection system if required for these service areas.
