Citizens letter regarding SFD ambulance service

If you appreciate the current level of service provided by the Sedona Fire District for Emergency Medical Services, now would be a very good time to speak up.

    EMAILED TO SEDONA FIRE BOARD

I am opposed to any cutbacks in the number of ambulances the Fire Dept. currently has because of the vulnerable situation this creates for residents and tourists alike. In this time, it is not unreasonable to imagine the occurance of some type of public emergency such as; flash floods, forest fires and worse yet, a bomb.

This is a very unreasponsible, arrogant and not cost effective action to take in order to save a really miniscule amount of residents’ tax dollars (approximately $50 per year of our taxes go to support the fire/ambulance service). The potential for legal suit is way too big to justify this measure.

I am not in the insurance business, but I do wonder what effect this would have on all of our homeowners’, homerenters’ and possibly medical insurance premiums!

Please, you need to reconsider this more carefully and more responsibly.
