Chino Valley Man Sentenced For Murder of Neighbor

Patrick Williams sentenced to 37 years for Streppa murder

Chino Valley AZ (December 3, 2012) – Almost two years to the day after committing a savage murder, this morning, the Honorable Tina Ainley of the Yavapai County Superior Court, committed Patrick Williams, 20, of Chino Valley, Arizona, to 37 years in the Arizona State Hospital for the murder of his 67 year-old neighbor.

Williams received the maximum sentence permitted under law.

On October 30, 2012, Patrick Williams, pled “Guilty Except Insane” to Second Degree Murder, Armed Burglary and Armed Robbery. 

These offenses occurred on Saturday, December 4, 2010, when a relative called the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and asked for a welfare check on the victim. YCSO Deputies responded to the victim’s residence in Chino Valley where deputies found an unlocked garage side door leading into the house. They noticed a blood trail from the dining room into the living room. The deputies found the victim’s body wrapped in a carpet in a closet in the living room. The victim had been stabbed 23 times, suffered broken ribs, broken jaw and a shattered skull.

Investigation led to the arrest of 18-year old Patrick Williams, the victim’s neighbor and someone the victim, 67 year-old Stella Streppa, had befriended. Williams had stolen and abandoned the victim’s automobile after the murder. Williams was charged with First Degree Murder, Burglary and Theft of Means of Transportation.
