I need to get in touch with the folks who are a part of the “Friends of the Verde River” in order to bring their attention to a proposed housing development, which would entail 132 units or “Affordable...

Dear Editor: Response to Tao Fellowship Issue

Les Mickle vs Tao Fellowship? This is in response to Mr. Les Mickle’s editorial in the Cottonwood Verde Independent on April 14, 2011. Mr. Mickle states some concern that the Tao Fellowship and their “Settlement” may damage the National Forest and Wilderness. He may be correct but look around at the other developments, in the same area, that have been built and ask yourself what’s the difference...

Folksville USA Point Man Talks Trash

Sedona AZ (March 31 2011)–Based on Folksville USA efforts for the past two years, plus recent and more frequent articles, I believe Arizona may be waking up to the “Trashing of America” and how the “Broken Window Theory” applies to our highways and communities.   As a veteran and American who has and continues to fight to defend this country, I salute those who take the...

Dear Editor: Hand Grenade Found

We cleaned the garbage from that area in mid-November 2010. Dear Editor: 89A Turnback Polls

A reference was made this morning on the Duo program relating to an SR89A poll taken by an on-line publication as Sedona.(something.) Bentley Hill, I’m alerting her to the potential confusion for those who...

Sedona Fire Chief Responds to Dave Norton, VEA Manager Email

Residents, Please see below.  These are my responses to Mr. Norton’s circulating email.  I also encourage everyone to attend the meeting. Mr. Norton, ·         Education taxes are higher than our Sedona Fire District taxes – the school district is higher on its own, plus Yavapai Community College is within a few dollars of SFD.  Overall, education is certainly much higher. ·        ...
