Sedona AZ (December 8, 2015) – The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation department, in conjunction with Holiday Central Sedona, invites the community to Tinsel Town at Posse Grounds Park, the largest collection of animated holiday lights in Sedona. This free event features beautiful walk-through light displays that dance to music every quarter hour.

A big night planned at Tinsel Town is Friday, December 18. Celebrate the Christmas holiday and school’s winter break by taking the kiddies to this event. convince me it’s better than last year, missing Los Abrigados lights, few annual tourists said same!!

  2. Jim L says:

Nothing can ever compare to Los Abrigados lights. The city and Tlaq should have partnered with them to keep the tradition going. Instead the greedy chamber took every cent they could and destroyed 30 years of tradition. The city never even thought of it. instead they pay the same group over and over for lame crap. Thanks for driving the holiday shoppers out of town city of Sedona.

  3. Chooser:

Diamond Resorts had a hand in the demise of the lights festival. Lets give credit where credit is due.

    Beggars:

Speaking of beggars, has anyone noticed that the beggars working outside of the grocery stores change daily? I saw one beggar with a very sophisticated expensive camera photographing another at Basha’s the other day, is there such a thing as a non tax paying beggers co op, ya know, put in a couple shifts and split the take?

It was always my experience in the bigger cities that once a spot was found, no other person would dare try to take that spot, so what gives?????

Are they registered with the chamber? Are they coming in on the Verde Lynx? They definitely did not lose their home in Sedona………

Big business, seems to be getting worse and who is monitoring this from the city?

I saw a car stop and give one money. He turned and watched the car drive off, then packed up his sign, went and got a comrade drinking Red Bull (how cheap is that because I drink water that’s healthier and free) sitting in a big truck with two other guys parked two spaces over from me with Giant coffee cups and a pretty red Starbucks large cup tossed on the dashboard, and said “give me a hit” and it appeared.

He then tossed his sign and knapsack in through the window and went into Safeway and came out with a Starbucks. One of the guys opened the truck door and in he went. I laughed when he opened a case on the dashboard and put on reading glasses and picked up a newspaper. Panhandling pays.

Have the cops fingerprinted these organized crime thugs? A man was murdered at a campsite near Sedona by transients within the past 30 days. Another group of transients took up housekeeping in a home used by its owners several times a year. Surely the police are taking the time to prevent more crime and investigate the other?

What you should find disturbing is this untaxed and unscrupulous business. All but one had great dental work (it’s my deal so I know), two had more expensive boots than I buy and they weren’t hand me downs, all wore the same camo outfit so who’s outfitted them – down to their custom manufactured handmade signs that are exact replicas of those in Flagstaff, Prescott, Phoenix and nevermind you get it. Sedona two were panhandling in front of stores offering jobs and since all but one were healthy and physically able, they had decided Sedonans were stupid enough to go to work and earn money for them instead of doing it themselves.

They’re right. Do not give money to these people. They’re crooks, petty crooks but they’re crooks. Don’t aid and abet them. If you want to help someone in real need, contact an organization or charity in town and offer your time and money.

You’re providing money for drugs, alcohol and criminal behavior. To you liking that woman panhandling, the one shaking her boobs and booty at you, you ought to worry that someone will recognize you and tell your wives and partners. Don’t be a john. It’s illegal. And I’d worry about a disease she carries. Just saying…

To our police, move them on. To council, pass an ordinance to let the police move them on. Call it a Jobs Incentive Ordinance or Anti Crime Ordinance.

  5. Darryl Z says:

There’s already a law for that, Panhandlers. It’s called “Loitering.”

  6. Lew says:

nope Sedona doesn’t or cops won’t enforce it, many have called, many get told not cops problem

seems council has an agenda to keep ’em here & visible says little birdies, let’s move ’em to the doors of the Sedona resorts where the tourists can fill their pockets or Chamber offices & uptown where they can get more money than where they are
