Sedona AZ– The 20th Anniversary edition of  The big & little Kids Book, a FREE resource guide of organizations serving Yavapai County children and their families, is now available for distribution.  This guide contains information on resources such as child care, clothing, counseling/support groups, disabilities/special needs, education, finances, food, health, hotlines, recreation/enrichment, shelter/housing and transportation.

Pick up the guides at the following locations: Public Libraries, Chambers of Commerce, the Department of Economic Security (Prescott and Cottonwood), Yavapai Regional Medical Center (Prescott and Prescott Valley), Verde Valley Regional Medical Center, the Step One Community Center (Prescott Valley), the Coalition for Compassion & Justice (Prescott United Methodist Church), at schools, and at nonprofit and public organizations serving children, youth and their families.

Bulk copies are available from the Yavapai County Community Foundation (Prescott) and First Things First (Prescott), Stepping Stones Agencies (Prescott Valley), Town of Chino Valley Parks & Recreation & Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce (Chino Valley), and Catholic Charities Community Services (Prescott and Cottonwood).  The big & little Kids Book is also available online at http://www.azfoundation.org/affiliates/north-central/biglittleKidsBook_web11.pdf.

In order to meet the rising need and increased public demand for countywide resource information supporting children, youth and their families, this year’s guide includes organizations in east as well as west Yavapai County, and 20,000 books will be distributed to hundreds of locations. This marks the highest number of books ever distributed, and the expanded outreach is made possible thanks to support from First Things First of Yavapai County, the Prescott Kiwanis Club, Credit Union West, and the Yavapai County Community Foundation Children’s Fund.  Production support was provided by: ACF/YCCF staff Tracey McConnell, Traci Corey and Megan Brownell; First Things First Staff Cindy Marshall-Pemberton and Lori Deutsch; YCCF current and past Advisory Board Members Rob Pecharich and Carl Brown; Debbie Stewart with Stewart Communications; Deborah Darby with the United Way of Yavapai County; Barbara Polk; Stepping Stones Agencies Staff Cori Burke; and Prisma Graphic.  The project coordinator was Tracey McConnell, YCCF Grants and Operations Coordinator.

The Yavapai County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Arizona Community Foundation, is an 18-year-old permanent philanthropic endowment for the enduring benefit of the community.  It secures, manages and allocates donors’ gifts for charitable purposes in the County while working to improve the quality of life for local residents.  Since the inception of YCCF in 1993, the Community Foundation has contributed more than $2 million to Yavapai County nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve.
