Badges for Health and First Responders

Sedona AZ (September 29, 2017) – The Sedona Police Department invites residents and visitors to join our officers in supporting women’s health and public safety personnel.

In October 2017, officers will sport pink T-shirts and trade their blue shoulder patches for pink to mark national Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The department will sell the patches for $10 with proceeds earmarked for the fight against cancer.

Patches can be purchased at police headquarters in the City Hall complex at 102 Roadrunner Drive, and will also be available at the October 7 National Night Out event at Posse Grounds Park.

Proceeds will be provided to the Impact One Breast Cancer Foundation in Gilbert, Arizona. The Pink Patch Project is a national law enforcement effort the SPD is proud to support.

In November 2017, attention turns to supporting Arizona’s first responders. Sedona’s male police officers will be permitted to to grow facial hair in exchange for a $25 donation to the 100 Club of Arizona, which assists the families of public safety officers and firefighters injured or killed in the line of duty.

Members of the public who wish to make a donation can do so at the Sedona Police Department headquarters, 102 Roadrunner Drive, or can provide them to any police officer in the field.

Go give blood. It’s needed. This is what you can do to help.

  2. Las Vegas - The Worst of Us says:

Route 91 Harvest Festival Shooting deaths are not political footballs. The people who died are innocents. These people who died at the hands of another did not deserve to die. No one could have protected them, no one could have predicted this event. This is not about guns or access to guns, it is not about psychotic behavior or mental health access, it is not about Las Vegas sins or the city lack thereof, it is not about religion.

It is about mankind and the best and worst of us. That is the only debate.

Remember that before you speak, before you listen to others who will speak. Do not use social media except to offer the best of yourselves. You are mankind’s example and you are responsible to and for all of it.

To those in the midst of this, we offer ourselves to your service if asked. We offer you our silence in mourning.

Thank you. God bless you. Peace be with you.
