Award for Suspect Who Shoots at Family Driving Near Seligman

Sedona AZ (October 23, 2012) – On Saturday, October 20, 2012 at about 1:30 in the afternoon, a family of four were in their vehicle traveling on the Fort Rock Road at Via De Oro in the Bridge Canyon west of Seligman when they noticed a man in a pick-up behind them honking the horn. The father of the family was driving the first vehicle and soon pulled over to see what was going on.

The driver of the second vehicle got out of the pick-up and walked toward the family’s vehicle. The father saw that the man was holding a semi-automatic hand gun and immediately pulled away at a high rate of speed. The man with the gun began shooting at the vehicle. Witnesses think he shot 5 or 6 times. Luckily no one was injured and the family got away.

The Yavapai County Sheriff Office is now looking for the suspect and the pick-up truck.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 30’s who is about 5′ 10″ and weighs about 180 pounds with dark brown hair, mustache, glasses and had a large dark tattoo on his upper right arm near the shoulder.

The hand gun was described as a black semi-automatic.

The pick-up truck is a full size 1990’s GMC either dark blue or dark gray with a single cab.

If you have any information about this shooting or the whereabouts of the suspect or the pick-up truck, please call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232. If your information leads to the suspect’s arrest in this case, you will be offered a $1,000.00 cash reward. Please remember that you never have to give your name when calling with a tip.

Citizens may contact the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office in Prescott, Arizona at 928-777-7266 with questions about this and other cases.
