SEDONA AZ–Recording artist Athena Reich recently released her fifth CD, LITTLE GIRL DREAMS, produced by multiple Grammy/Emmy winner Cynthia Daniels (Melissa Etheridge, Chaka Khan etc).

LITTLE GIRL DREAMS marks Athena’s coming into her own as a mature, articulate, reflective, dynamic original artist that can be compared to Annie Lennox’s “Diva” and Regina Spektor’s “Begin to Hope.”

Athena most recently won the 2009 Out Music Awards award for “Pop Song of The Year” for her song “Love is Love.” She is currently on tour promoting the new album. LITTLE GIRL DREAMS features numerous hit singles including: Love is Love, an upbeat unconventional love song celebrating the complexity within relationships. “The issues surrounding gay marriage are absurd because no one – not one of us holds the answers to the question of love. The issue is not who you love,” says Athena, “it’s how you love.”

Little Girl Dreams is about following your dreams no matter what obstacles you must overcome, from a ban on gay marriage to an ex who tries to break your heart. No one and nothing can stop the power of those little girl (and boy) dreams. The Logical Song is a cover of the 1979 Supertramp hit by Roger Hodgson. Athena revives this internationally beloved, almost forgotten, anthem rebelling against society’s pressure to conform. Athena’s version stays true to the original while adding contemporary beats and sultry, soulful vocals.

Athena Reich Little Girl Dreams features a string quartet (arrangements by Greg Pliska of Carly Simon & Hem), gorgeous electronic grooves and subtle instrumentation that lets Athena’s amazing vocal and songwriting talents shine through without any distraction. Each song on Little Girl Dreams tells a story in a most surprising, beautiful, and delicate manner.

Athena Reich is a singer/songwriter, actress, TV Host/Personality and Arts in Autism Educator. Athena is originally from Toronto but is currently based out of New York City. Athena has toured across North America numerous times, been featured on CNN, the History Channel, PBS & more. She wrote the theme song for “Living in Captivity,” a TV pilot accepted into the ITV Festival in LA this summer (animated by Emily Hubley of Hedwig & the Angry Inch).

Most recently, Athena appeared in an Advil commercial (singing “Little Girl Dreams’), and on $12 Challenge on the Food Network. Athena has released four other CDs (including a rock opera), all currently available on her website & Itunes. Athena’s music is storytelling pop. She is known for her surprisingly original and gorgeous melodies, delicately deep lyrics and whimsical sense of humor. Audience members have been known to pee their pants with laughter, shortly after being blown away by her soulful, seemingly boundless velvety vocals.
