Phoenix AZ (January 8, 2013) – On November 8, 2012, the Arizona Attorney General filed a motion with the Arizona Supreme Court asking that the Court issue a warrant for the execution of Edward Harold Schad Jr. thereby affirming the decision of the Superior Court of Yavapai County. Schad had appealed the Superior Court’s decision on April 1987, December 1989 and September 1997.
Schad’s warrant for execution was granted today, January 8, 2013, by the Arizona Supreme Court. The Court ordered that Schad be executed March 6, 2013.
Schad may choose an intravenous lethal injection or death by lethal gas. In the event that Schad does not make a choice, the State will administer an intravenous lethal injection at the Arizona State Prison in Florence, Arizona.
