Arizona PBS Visits Folksville USA

Gary Chamberlain, Folksville USA Point Man

Sedona AZ (September 27, 2012) Folksville USA Point Man, Gary Chamberlain, was interviewed by Arizona Eight this week about the Folksville USA effort to “point” the Arizona Department of Transportation in the right direction to clean up its ineffective taxpayer funded litter abatement program. Read below Chamberlain’s Letter to the Sedona Eye Editor and watch the AZ Channel 8 television interview:

Chamberlain writes…Please consider passing this message and Arizona PBS Channel 8 interview to friends and family no matter where they live. Is the national Adopt-A-Highway program working or is it just “free” advertising for most of those whose names appear on the signs  – and job security for state and federal bureaucrats?

If your state has a highly-functioning Adopt-A-Highway Program, please let me know. Does your state have a consecutive group of folks that would like to challenge us in Arizona?

We are all winners if we clean up our nations highways.

Will you join us during our next effort on November 17, 2012? Contact me for details.

Dear Adopt-A-Highway participants nationwide.

I believe that the thirty ADOT Adopt-A-Highway Groups in the Verde Valley are the most effective 30 groups in Arizona and possibly the nation.

If ADOT would consider how these 30 groups achieved this goal, Arizona would greatly benefit!

ADOT, when would you like to meet and discuss how to enhance the economy of Arizona through effective ADOT Adopt-A-Highway Groups, groups that honor commitments to the taxpayers that pay for this program and signs that bear names of the volunteers who pick up someone else’s mess?

ADOT must mow highways so that volunteers can clean those highways. It’s a safety issue and a public health issue.

If we all do our part, Arizona’s highways will attract tourists, new home buyers and businesses that bring employment opportunities.

Looks to me like Mr. Chamberlain is truly making a difference !! Congratulations to the good people of Arizona who have such a man in your midst!! To my mind, there is nothing more important than “stepping up to the plate” and fixing a problem when one exists, and I think Mr. Chamberlain and his group at Folksville, USA have done just that!

  2. This AZ Channel 5 news story should wake folks up in Arizona and, the USA must consider how un-embarrassed those interviewed were about their litter habits and the cost and waste of taxpayer dollars.
