American Trash Warriors Rally

Cornville AZ (March 9 2011)–Gary Chamberlain is the Vietnam era Point-man for “The American Trash Warriors”. The American Trash Warriors mission is to rally veterans and citizens in the Verde Valley and aggressively go after the trash lining the highways of our country and communities. They plan on honoring our military, veterans and communities through this effort.

Chamberlain has several Arizona (Verde Valley, Prescott, Prescott Valley) veterans and the 1st Suadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment of Dragoons “Blackhawks” at Fort Bliss, Texas involved in this grass roots effort, plus a Vietnam era “Blackhawk” in New York who has local Girl Scouts involved. The nationwide group goal is to eventually link all roads to Cornville, Arizona.

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) David Davenport of Fort Bliss, Texas will be on KYCA Terry Lovell’s show this Thursday, March 10 2o11, at 4 PMArizona time to discuss the history of the CAV and why they joined the American Trash Warriors effort. CSM Davenport also recently recognized the “Blackhawks” of the past and present.

The American Trash Warriors web site is under construction. Email Chamberlain at TheAmericanTrashWarriors@gmail.com for more information. The American Trash Warriors 2011 Arizona litter recovery efforts are scheduled for May 20-22, August 19-21, and November 18-21.

  1. Join Us April 2nd says:

Folksville USA and some of “The American Trash Warriors” will be picking up illegally dumped litter on Scenic Highway 89A on April 2, 2011 between 8am and noon.

The two Trash Warrior groups participating will be the Rio Verde Roverette’s and they will be working between mile post MP-355 to 356. The Yavapai College Fire fighters Acadamy and will be working between mile post MP-356 to 357.

Both of these sections are on Scenic Highway just as you leave Cottonwood towards Sedona. Motorists should exercise caution when passing these folks and if our local law enforcement agencies could keep an eye out that would be much appreciated also.

CONTACT via email at TheAmericanTrashWarriors@gmail.com or FolksvilleUSA@gmail.com. Our mission is restoring the beauty to America the Beautiful to honor our military, veterans and communities.

As the Point-man, I would like the media to know that “Folksville USA” and “The American Trash Warriors” turned the “American Litter Locust” loose on the “Litter Bugs of America” in the Verde Valley. Have you seen tne Scenic Highway 89A since ADOT is mowing the median and shoulders to make it safer and visually more attractive for the residents who come to visit our area? The ADOT Adopt-A-Highways Permittees are the best of the best.

  4. Gary Chamberlain, UPDATE says:

We are getting a lot of local and national media press due to our team efforts these past two plus years.

Our mission statement is simple: “Restore the beauty to America the Beautiful and honor or military, veterans and communities”. Eventually, we will be in contact with all Adopt-A-Highway Coordinators now that we have a contact list for them and make this a national effort.

I am currently working with the state Adopt-A-Highway Coordinators in the states of Washington and Texas. I have been working with the Director of Keep New Mexico Clean and Beautiful. We are currently on radio station KYCA 1490 discussing common issues all states are facing with budgets and those who TRASH our country. What is the cost of the Litter Bug o the tax payer? One state has willingly provided budget information and the others will be asked very soon; it’s their call as to provide it. At the end of the day, we want to know what the dollar $$$ / bag of litter collection costs the states and its tax payers.

Arizona’s Adopt-A-Highways Coordinator has not weighed in as of this date. If you wish to contact Sterphanie Brown, call her at (602) 712-7114 and voice your concerns. We all wish to work with our Arizona AAH Coordinator. Arizona needs to raise the bar several notches to be effective in ridding our state of litter.

We have expanded our efforts to now include portions of I-17, 169, 69, 89, 89A and Cornville Road. This will have an impact on Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome, Sedona, McGuireville, Camp Verde, Prescott, Prescott Valley and Cornville plus other areas.

I have presentations scheduled with the Sedona Rotary Club, Sedona Valley AOC, KYCA 1490 AM Radio Prescott, and others. I am trying to schedule presentations with ANY group or organization who will listen while keeping true to my commitment to not bring politics into this great effort. Any suggestions or comments? Please let me know who might be interested in our story. I am corresponding via e-mail to 3 Democratic and 3 Republican Senators to give each party an equal opportunity to tell our story. Our efforts are saving the Highway Maintenance Departments time, energy, and money. These Senators know that they will be recognized as being engaged and pro active and as of this date, three have met this criteria!

We now have a Army unit at Fort Bliss Texas that has joined our national effort! We have the ear of two NY media organizations that are following our progress! If you know of anyone who would like to hear our story, let me know.

I will be going to Flagstaff and Prescott this next week to get bags and vests from Chuck King and Matt Huddleston. This is one way I’m trying to help us all restore the Beauty to America the Beautiful. Please let me know if you need any of these items and I’ll get them for you too.

    Gary Chamberlain
