ADOT I-17 Weekly Road Closure Schedule

Prescott AZ (April 29, 2012) – The following late night closures and restrictions will be in place on Arizona Interstate 17 at Cordes Junction this week as crews perform paving operations and striping work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation:

● Monday night (April 30) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. a right lane closure will occur on northbound I-17.

● Thursday night (May 3) between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. alternating lane closures will occur on northbound I-17.

● Thursday night (May 3) between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. intermittent closures, up to 30 minutes, are expected on northbound I-17 as crews stripe the roadway.

Drivers are encouraged to adjust their travel schedules in order to avoid the closures during those hours or allow extra travel time to reach their destination.

The work is part of a $50 million project to reconstruct the I-17/State Route 69 traffic interchange.

The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.     Night work on Interstate 17 at Cordes Junction construction scheduled next week with highway to be closed up to 30 minutes intermittently from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Tuesday night.

    The following late night closures and restrictions will be in place on Interstate 17 at Cordes Junction next week as crews restripe the roadway and prepare for a traffic switch on southbound I-17, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation:

    Monday (if necessary) and Tuesday nights (May 7-8) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., alternating lane restrictions will occur on southbound I-17.

    Tuesday night (May 8) from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. intermittent closures up to 30 minutes are expected on southbound I-17.

    Drivers are encouraged to adjust their travel schedules in order to avoid the closures during those hours or allow extra travel time to reach their destination.

  2. ADOT I-17 Work Update - May 7 through May 11 says:

    Guardrail repair scheduled on Interstate 17 for May 7 through May 11, 2012 – Lane restrictions north and south of Camp Verde:

    The Arizona Department of Transportation will repair guardrail on northbound Interstate 17 between State Route 169 and the McGuireville Rest Area (milepost 280 to 297), from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday (May 8) and as necessary on Wednesday (May 9).

    The work will require alternating lane restrictions and the closure of the northbound shoulder during work hours to provide a safe work zone for maintenance crews.

    In addition, crews will repair damaged guardrail on southbound I-17 Tuesday (May 8), just south of the State Route 179 traffic interchange (milepost 293 to 296), which will require alternating lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    Crews will continue work on southbound I-17, if necessary on Wednesday (May 9) from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. to finish guardrail repair in the same vicinity that will require closure of the left lane through the work zone.

    The speed limit through the work zones will be reduced to 45 mph during work hours. Minimal delays are expected, however, ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

    UPDATE: Interstate 17 at Cordes Junction construction requires night work tonight and tomorrow.

    Highway closed tonight at 11 p.m. up to 30 minutes and again tomorrow intermittently up to 30 minutes between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.

    The following late night closures will be in place on Interstate 17 at Cordes Junction tonight and tomorrow as crews perform utility work, paving operations and striping work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation:

    Tonight (May 8) at 11 p.m. I-17 will be closed in both directions for up to 30 minutes.

    Wednesday (May 9) from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. intermittent closures up to 30 minutes are expected on southbound I-17.

    Drivers are encouraged to adjust their travel schedules in order to avoid the closures during those hours or allow extra travel time to reach their destination.

  4. MINGUS MOUNTAIN UPDATE says:

    Closures on SR 89A between Prescott Valley and Mingus Mountain Wednesday – Drivers can expect 30 minute delays at 6 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

    A seven-mile stretch of State Route 89A between Old Fain Road and Mingus Mountain (milepost 330 to 337) will be closed up to 30 minutes at 6 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 9), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

    The closures will allow an oversize load to transport two concrete buildings to Mingus Mountain.

    Department of Public Safety officers will provide traffic control during the operation. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
