That Flippin’ Dutchie is in Flag!

Onne van der Laak, the Flippin’ Dutchie, has been cooking “Dutchies” in the Netherlands and the East Coast for over 20 years and finally is bringing the Dutchies to the South West.

Where in the Southwest? Ft. Tuthill County Park , the Fair Grounds in Flagstaff, Arizona beginning September 3 at 10 AM until September 6 at 10 PM. Come and enjoy authentic “Dutchies.”

And if you ask, what is a Dutchie, we will tell you what it is not! It’s not a pancake and it is not a crepe! We will tell you that it is a Dutch delight!

Come and enjoy a taste of Dutch history, it will be like no other food at the Fair!

However, since you insisted upon a hint, we will say that a Dutchie is a light layer of batter combined with the ingredients of your choice and cooked in a large pan. The batter’s distinctive taste goes wonderfully with fruit, vegetables, meat and cheeses or you may choose simply to eat it plain with maple syrup. The Dutchie has been a favorite for centuries in Holland where it was served to hungry men at harvest time or in country celebrations for new-born children. At long last, the Dutchie reaches American shores through authentic Dutch baker, Onne van der Laak.  Find on Facebook as the “Flippin Dutch.”
