The following is but a portholes view, from across the room of “The Life and Times of Collins Rhōg“:
– goodbye to my ghosts –
I used to think, I thought that we were close
turn back the hands of time and look
you’re the face I saw the most
a balloon drifts off in the distance and out of sight
we ran real hard, we couldn’t catch it
but we know, we really tried.
It’s time I say goodbye to all my ghosts
I close my eyes and walk away, she’s the one who hurt me most
and if our paths should ever cross again
wonder if I’ll turn away, maybe I’ll extend a hand.
I take a walk outside into the night
search my heart and soul for peace
find a tunnel without a light
in ten feet of water, I’m fighting up for air
I kick and thrash, in the dark, reach the top and cough up fear
they say we hurt the one’s we love the most
can a bandaid mend the price we’ve paid, if we still don’t know the cost
and if our paths should ever cross again
maybe we won’t turn away
wonder how this tale will end…

“Can a bandaid mend the price we paid?” That line hits home for now, and very well said.”
