Just in time for thoughtful gift-giving during the holiday season — even though the gift may just be to oneself — Sedonan Barbara Mayer’s new spiritual allegory will be featured at Sedona’s Well Red Coyote Book Store, Friday, December 3 2010.
In Living The Gift – A Unicorn’s Journey Into Spirit, Mayer brings the art of spiritual story telling to a new dimension as she spins a mystical journey toward self-discovery and wisdom, as well as understanding workings of the heart. Topics such as family, creativity, divinity, meditation, relationships, depression and dealing with death are covered in sensitive and meaningful ways.
Considering earlier work in a lifetime of writing, Mayer reflects on the publication of Living The Gift and her recent book, Beyond Religion. “Beyond Religion is gaining a greater audience as people look beyond dogma and dictates to find their own personal truth. In Living The Gift, however, I take the reader through a journey of her or his own soul – to finding one’s gift to give the world – and on to the joy of living that gift! I have written many things but this book remains very special to me. It is a delightful journey into the sweetness and wisdom of the soul, and as that — it simply is what it is.”
Living The Gift – A Unicorn’s Journey Into Spirit will debut and be available for sale and signing at Sedona’s Well Red Coyote book store December 3rd. Refreshments will be offered at 6:30 PM followed by a 7 PM program with the author. Mayer will be available after the program to sign books.
Mayer’s recent book Beyond Religion – The Personal Search For Truth and her newest work, Living The Gift – A Unicorn’s Journey Into Spirit will be available.
Both books will be available (including CD audio books of Living The Gift) read by the author Rev. Barbara Mayer, CMH, OUnI. Mayer is a former Catholic nun and is now a cleric in the Order of Universal Interfaith and the Community of the Mystic Heart.

is she a minister? how come she isn’t Catholic now and right that she is excommunicated????? as a RC I cannot imagine anyone supporting someone who turns away from the teachings of our beloved Church
the Trinity gave her breath so doesn’t this Reverend appreciate the fact that the Church gave her vision?
Dear Rev. Mayer:
Do you remember me? I met you at Maggie’s birthday party. I think you liked me a lot because you sure did pay me a lot of attention. Hope Mommy will buy your book.
Lovingly,
Harley McGuire
