SEDONA AZ–“I just retired from the Marsall’s office,” candidate for Verde Valley Constable Monte Reimer said. “And some of the local citizens asked me to run for Constable. I have been serving papers for the last 21 years with the Marshall and I have good people skills. I think that is important, to treat people decent. I enjoy the work. I had this thought that I could retire and stay out of it. I was wrong. I like being part of things.”
Candidate Reimer added, ‘The main thing with Constable is that the papers and the court documents need to be served as quickly as possible. You want to give people plenty of time. It is not okay to serve someone just a day or two in advance because to appear in court they have to take time off work and make arrangements. They need as much time as possibleand I want to give them that.”
Stating that the Constable job involves picking up the papers from the court and getting them served, Verde Valley candidate Monte Reimer says that it is also important to work with the other agencies. “Sometimes people have moved and the court doesn’t have the most recent address. By working with other agencies, it is possible to find them more quickly and give them that timely notice.”
“I have a good rapport with the people in Camp Verde,” candidate for Constable Reimer said. “I always figure, if you show me respect I will show you respect back. I like to treat people the way I want to be treated and it usually works. Life works a lot better that way. I have twenty-one years of being an officer. This is a small town and you get to know everyone. My family has all grown-up here in Camp Verde. I have three daughters and grandkids. I’m a family man, dedicated to my family and my job. If elected I’ll get answers for people when they have questions, treat them with respect, and do the best job I can.”
