Update on the Gladiator fire evacuations– Incident Command has been turned over to the USFS. As of 9 pm, the town is not directly threatened. YCSO evacuations are complete for tonight. It was mostly visitors that left the town as the majority of residents have decided to stay overnight. YCSO and USFS Law Enforcement Officers will have a heavy patrol presence all night protecting those that remain and the town buildings.

Per the mandatory evacuation order policy, those choosing to stay must remain on their property. If they are found in a public area of town, deputies will escort them out of the fire zone.

All Crown King businesses are closed and roadblocks remain. Only emergency service personnel are allowed to enter the town. Deputies are in close contact with USFS for updates regarding changes in fire danger to the town. Deputies will again canvass the town tomorrow to advise residents of any updates.

Crown King residents have been very cooperative.

There are 254 documented residential type structures and 55 area cabins in the adjacent Horse thief Basin area. Crown King Road is still blocked due to the fire.
