I liked the information about disasters from Jennifer. I used it for a homework assignment. My teacher said he'd give me extra credit if I wrote and thanked you. I need the extra credit because my last test wasn't good. My teacher likes us to watch the weather channel and to tell him if they got it right.
Sincerely,
Maryna Gonzales (5th grade)

The hurricane missed us by hitting landfall at about 150 miles north of Charleston, so we just had a few showers and some stiff breezes. My brother (who lives in Montauk on the end of Long Island) was mostly fortunate, except he lost electricity. But lots of people lost electricity. Downstate NY was mostly pretty lucky, as the storm had lost much of its power by then.

I watched far to much of the weather channel all weekend. Too bad the storm didn't hit Texas, which really needs the water.
