Thank you Orchestrated, I did as you said and it looks like Mr. Segner is on the right track. I’ve been hearing for months how people on this site present their facts and obviously those facts are wrong. Im thinking that the money we as taxpayers pay those city people is money well spent.

Thank you for reminding me of that meeting B/C I forgot all about it. As you suggested, I watched the video and found it very interesting, indeed:

I saw just what you spoke about, people who are specialists in their field, Ms Miller who I understand is also an attorney, debunk each and every negative issue that you people have posted on this site for so long. So, of course, you’ll call it a “shake down” because you were caught with your pants down. Since you mentioned Mr. Budnick, his numbers were dis-proven: Locals pay 35% in Sales tax and visitors pay 65% AND they say that those numbers are conservative. BUT IT’S A SHAKEDOWN!!!!!

Just sayin has a point , you do not know what city employees
Do, or there work load ,you just rant about a balance sheet you do not like .The citys income is over budget and Capitol projects should be using bond money so the cost is spread over the life the project.
Having a degree in finance does not make you an expert at running a city or a company, it is just staff position in most company’s, management is left to in our case the city manager he knows what each employee does.

But you and your friends are the bullies you use hateful words and make comments that you can not support. Anyone who happened to catch the council meeting (2/24) saw a classic example of an orchestrated shakedown. Jean J.’s online input including the report from Ron Budnick during his time on the Budget Oversight Commission was neatly trashed by city employee Tabitha Miller. The cast of public speakers solicited by the Lodging Council obviously had been hand delivered contributions to the meeting that in any way challenged the integrity of the funding given to the chamber of commerce for still unproven return on the investment.

And people wonder why frequently comments are posted anonymously? Check out the meeting and witness first hand the type of bullying that goes on in Sedona. This time at a public council meeting and the elected seven plus city staff members encourage such behavior. Seeing is believing.

You are wrong to claim “no official reporting or news person ever said Sedona has a bloated, big city government.”

Guess you missed Terry Nash’es “SEDONA, THE FUTURE IS NOW: Excessive Debt — Deteriorating Revenue — Bloated City Staff — A City Council Out of Touch” (October 21, 2008), which appeared in the Sedona Verde Valley Times newspaper. Terry also wrote “CRACKS FORM IN SEDONA’S ECONOMY” and “A DETAILED LOOK AT SEDONA’S FINANCES.” Sedona.Biz reprinted Terry’s “THE FUTURE IS NOW…..”

Terry and others, myself included, have researched Sedona’s finances. I have a degree in Economics, so have no trouble reading the City’s financials. I know perfectly well the City of Sedona helps support the entire region; won’t have enough reserve funds for non-WW capital projects after another two years; is operating under an unbalanced budget that sucks up revenues/savings (this fiscal year’s budgeted expenditures exceed estimated revenues by $10.6 Million); and has NOT made mention of a “no new tax pledge.”

Terry Nash, who conducted fraud audits for the protection of minority shareholders for a Big Eight accounting firm and was the controller of a Fortune Five-Hundred company, is currently a venture capitalist living in Texas. He spent a year or more reviewing the City of Sedona’s financial documents Under a Freedom of Information Subpoena when residing here. His findings of several years ago live on today.
