A MoveOn member named Sedona Drum Community recently created a petition on our public petition website entitled "SAVE Our Drum Ceremony on Cathedral Rock Sedona"—and we'd like to know what you think of it.

The petition is addressed to Sedona City Coucil and Mayor Sandy Moriarty, and reads:

Stop the Proposed Stipulations that are tandemed with the Parking Lot changes, clearly designed to stop our Ceremony.

Sign Sedona's petition.

http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/save-our-drum-ceremony?source=mo.mp&id=121633-12146627-eVD4Rsx&t=34

Here's what Sedona wrote about it:

We as community members of Sedona Az have gathered on Cathedral Rock at FullMoon for our Drum Circle Ceremony for a minimum of 20 years.
We go to Worship, to Pray, to Drum, to Dance, to Celebrate, to Bring More Peace to Our World.

Our circle is open to All and many visitors join us and share that it is a once in a lifetime experience that they will always carry with them.

The Land is US Forest Service and we have our right to use it. We gather just 8 times a year out of 365, for a few hours and are deserving of compromise.

Can you click to let us know what you think?

I want to sign this petition.

I don't think MoveOn should support this petition.

We'll decide whether to send this petition out to additional MoveOn members in your area based on your feedback.

In case you haven't heard about it, MoveOn's petition site allows anyone to start an online petition and share it with friends and neighbors to build support for their cause.

Thanks for all you do.

On Wednesday, June 24, Team Fishel will be pulling fiber optic lines through manholes starting from the Sedona Post Office roundabout, north on SR 89A and west on Forest Road to CenturyLink's sub-station located on Smith and Forest Roads.

There will be some minor traffic control starting at 7 p.m. It is anticipated that work will be completed by 10 p.m. on the same night. Low wattage lighting will be used around the manhole areas for work zone lighting. No digging or boring will done during this project.
