I am sick to death of this. I live near Slide Rock and last night I listened to loud trucks and commotion in the midnight hour [lasting for hours]. How incredibly inconsiderate. The people in favor of all these 'improvements' should recognize the impact it has on others.

Also, the so called improvement of a traffic circle in Uptown is a nightmare. When you are traveling to West Sedona, and the traffic signal is red, all of the traffic backs up through the traffic circle - making the situation worse than ever. Who planned this? Evidently, someone who wasn't very forward thinking.

I could go on and on. Hiking trails overtaken by hotel construction, ugly monstrosities in the Village of Oak Creek that block the view of the beautiful landscape.

The people responsible for all of these things should be ashamed of themselves and their self centered, money making initiatives that are ruining the character of Sedona.

Is there truth to the rumor that the city of Sedona and the village of Oak Creek are going to lose the scenic Highway designation? It’s seems that there was a letter generated had stated that a scenic Highway responsibility was on local planning and zoning to promote scenic views and that is not being done any longer.

Who do City Hall and the slimy Chamber of Commerce think they're fooling? The Uptown roadway project won't make a dent in the traffic problems they've created.

The amount of traffic the City's three newest hotel projects will create?

Marriott Residence Inn (90 rooms) - 518 extra trips per day. Approved by P & Z and the City Council.

Ambiente Hotel (40 rooms) - 233 extra trips per day. Approved by P & Z.

The Village at Saddlerock Crossing (Oxford Hotel/104 rooms, 24 multi-family residential units (low rise), a 1,300 square foot museum, three apparel stores, and a 3,100 square foot high-turnover sit-down restaurant) - 1,740 total weekday trips extra and 1,250 extra Saturday trips. BTW, there's to be a three-story lobby and approximately 29 three-story units. IMO safety issues, clogged traffic nightmares galore and view-shed obstacles are only a few or so problems with this atrocious project.

Why would we? We're not relevant according to chamber, city and lodging.

We changed our shopping to go OUT of town with all the remarks segner makes on the eye. Jennifer Wesselhoff stated in city council meeting we don't pay. Yet she takes over 2.5 million a year for her club.

As long as the city funds this private entity with ANY city collected taxes I won't support their efforts or any of their members.

City Council please stop giving taxpayers money away. The chamber member's should be paying for their own marketing. YOU are hurting your own.

Businesses can only grow when they stand o their OWN FEET!!!!!!!

If all Sedona residents cancel their support of the Soy Boy's of the Red Rock Fake News, and tell any business they patronize they will not longer receive your business it they remain chamber members, we can probably begin change.

The biggest disaster was the last election, good luck finding any people to run for office. Your best bet is to get a movement for dis-incorporation. End the disaster that is the City of Sedona.

Adding to your comment (Bev & Paul) in the current proposed city budget for this fiscal year the amount for the Chamber exceeds $2.6 MILLION!

Based on estimates for the proposed uptown road project, without consideration of the Forest Road extension, that amount should clearly not be wasted on the poor performance from the C of C. There’s been nothing offered to prove the millions of $$$$ already thrown on the undeserving special interest group has provided anything other than a surge of more daytrippers. Enough yet?

We join the ranks of those intending to snub the Chamber of Commerce and all their members, who are the ones responsible for creating this mess. Wait - we take that back - it's the City of Sedona that created the monster by giving the Chamber millions of undeserved dollars for their cheesy, unprofessional marketing plan. You failed the residents of Sedona now you plead for our support? Tell it to the Chamber/Lodging CEO's and their members.

Chamber sent a request that locals support uptown during this time of construction.

Now you need us residents? Now you want us to be inconvenienced to shop uptown at 11 1/2% tax when it's 6.3% in VOC and Cottonwood? Now you want us to buy your Chinese and Turkish junk being marketed as Native?

Now you want us to turn our backs on west Sedona stores and shops and VOC stores and shops and Cottonwood and Jerome stores and shops? I shop other places and don't have to support uptown. If you can't survive on your own, you shouldn't be in business.

There isn't one thing residents living in Sedona go to uptown to buy because it's only for tourists. No grocery, no decently priced restaurants with consistently good food, no ambience, because its all under construction.

Who are you doing this construction for? Not the residents. You need to ask me and others when you should tell all the tourists and ask they stop and shop in uptown regardless of how inconvenient or ugly it is. Don't ask residents. We shop other places. We're not tourists needing tourist items. We shop our wallets.

If you think I'm the only one saying this, you better be checking out local chat rooms and neighborhood social media. Read just two people standing up for uptown and he's affiliated with the chamber and the other's the small town newspaper editor fighting for his job and the rest are unhappy.

That is so unintentionally appropriate.

sim (plural sims)

(informal) A simulation or simulator.
They played a flight sim all afternoon.

Sedona in Motion is a sim, a simulation, of a solution.

Nothing will change in the end, but you will be diverted and your time wasted during the construction. Good thing the city has professional management to screw things up. Of course voting in the city was the root cause of these problems.
