Only two FREE Photo Hunt & Hikes left this summer and the City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department doesn't want anyone to miss out! This new and successful program offers an opportunity for children and their parents to get outside and enjoy their City parks. The remaining two events will switch locations and take place at our unique Jordan Historical Park in uptown Sedona. This hour-long adventure through a local park provides children ages 6 to 12 years old the chance to learn about nature, history and simply enjoy the sunshine. Parents are encouraged to participate with their child. The event is open to residents and visitors!

A Park Ranger will guide participants through the park while they search for a given list of items. Each child must learn about and photograph all items on the list in order to complete their field journal. Each journalist must bring his or her own camera to use. After successfully photographing all of the items on your list, participants should develop their pictures and create an adventure field journal of their hike at home.

There are only two chances left to participate in Kids Photo Hunt and Hike. It is being offered July 9 and August 13. Easy to remember as it is always the second Saturday of the month beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the lower parking lot at Jordan Historical Park, 735 Jordan Road in uptown Sedona. Visit daily the SedonaEye.com Calendar of Events for information and reminders!

Class maximum size is 15 children. Please call the Parks and Recreation office at 928-282-7098 to reserve your child's place in the class. For more information on this and other events, please reference the City website at www.SedonaAZ.gov/Parks. Important to remember: Each scheduled Hunt and Hike requires a new class registration for participating children!
