Recently read that scientists found faults in Oklahoma. They’re causing more earthquakes. They say that more than four 5.0 or more earthquakes have occurred since 2011 when Oklahoma used to average just one magnitude 3.0 earthquake a year before 2009 and by 2015 experienced 903. Last year it was 302 and so far this year 80 have occurred. Scary enough for you?

The faults are quite likely activated by wastewater injection (process oil and natural gas producers use to dispose of wastewater) that has been linked lately to many Oklahoma earthquakes. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s Oil and Gas Conservation Division has directed several oil and gas producers in the state to close some injection wells and to reduce volumes in others. What? The city is actually asking for bids on the injection well project? Ha. Wonder if they haven’t already made a choice and this gesture is just a smoke screen, same as the contract with the chamber of commerce and Red Earth Theater. What a joke – too little to late to make nice appearances.
