I for one can’t remember the piano player in my favorite Italian place in Tampa but I go there because he’s there. Food is average but the atmosphere is reliable when I’m in town meeting friends. Same at Reds when I stay in town. Midweek is good at Reds that has the cheapest and best wine selection and a good bartender and musician that plays to the crowd that he likes and likes him. Again don’t know his name but I go there because he does a reliable show. Noise isn’t a problem unless you have outdoor venues. Sedona has resorts. I’d go there but not to an outdoor venue. Too blazing saddles hot!

we want to say this about mtg & we looked this up again to make sure Wing was on here.

sedona like we remember when first came here is gone. great & good musicians & performers are few & far between. lots getting bad raps because fly by nighters don’t show up for booked jobs –a musician that shows up when promised is gold. Bars & food places cheat musicians left & right & feel no guilt. musician should make min $350 a show for 2 hrs, the avg going rate in most other areas but sedona employers like to cheat.

there’s no sound issues with pros. There’s no prob with no shows with pros. there’s a few top tier musicians & the rest undercut them. look at the pros at studio live. we will miss you suzie shoes.

want to regulate? dont regulate musicians. in sedona they have no control with corrupt employers. demand that Sedona employers pay a min fee & have terms for music & base rates. Go after the thieves that cheat musicians out of money at end of shows. Give musicians teeth to enforce deals.

Just for clarification. There are two meetings. The first is July 17th referenced above and will discuss the sound ordinance. The second meeting for the Arts Community is July 18th as described in the Sedona City Council post and will involve all the Arts who care to attend. Hope to see you at both meetins.

As part of the Sedona City Council’s ongoing communications efforts and community outreach, an Arts Community outreach meeting will take place on Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Road.

The purpose of the meeting is to seek input from the arts community regarding any arts and cultural issues you wish to share with the City Council. There will be time set aside for both questions and answers. Input from this meeting may also prompt future discussion and action by the Council.
